The 2,850L Aquaplate Water Tank keeps the 1,240mm footprint of the smallest Aquaplates but goes tall, 2,400mm high, for maximum capacity on a minimum pad. Perfect for narrow rural alcoves or suburban side yards where the ground is tight but head height isn’t. Zincalume steel shell, food-grade lining, AS/NZS 4020 potable compliant. Vertical, not horizontal
On the same 1,240mm footprint that gave you 930L and 1,850L, the 2,850L stretches up to 2,400mm tall for serious capacity on a tight pad. Ideal for side-of-house runs on suburban blocks, narrow alcoves on rural builds, or anywhere the tank has to fit between two fixed points horizontally. Height replaces ground.
Why Aquaplate over plain steel
At this capacity, a plain galvanised tank starts showing its age in 10-15 years: rust spots appear where water meets metal, and a metallic taste can develop. Aquaplate solves both problems with a Zincalume shell (longer UV life than plain galv) plus a food-grade polymer liner bonded to the inside. AS/NZS 4020 certified. Your water never touches metal.
Household fit
2,850L covers a full household’s non-potable needs (garden, toilet, laundry) through most of a Tasmanian summer, or serves as a credible primary tank for a one- or two-person cabin. Tall enough to gravity-feed low fixtures without a pump.

How long will it take to arrive?
Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
Do I need council approval to install a water tank?
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Can I pick the colour?
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
