One big tank instead of two
At 20,000 litres, the 20,000L Aquaplate does the work that would otherwise take two 10,000L tanks with twin inlets, twin pumps, and duplicate plumbing. One tank, one pad, one outlet manifold. Simpler to install, simpler to maintain, and for properties where the main house and a second dwelling share a roof catchment, much simpler to plumb.
Why Aquaplate at this scale
Large rural tanks hold water for weeks between full cycles. The construction matters more here than in a small tank where turnover is fast. Plain galvanised steel interacts with stored water over time (taste, pitting, sediment). Aquaplate’s bonded food-grade liner (AS/NZS 4020 compliant) prevents water contact with metal entirely, regardless of how long the water sits. 20,000 litres at the end of a dry summer is drinkable the same way 20,000 litres fresh off the roof is.

How long will it take to arrive?
Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
Do I need council approval to install a water tank?
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Can I pick the colour?
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
