Near-commercial capacity in a residential-friendly shape. 27,500 litres, 3400mm across, 3080mm tall. Goes vertical rather than wider, so you keep the same 3400mm pad as the 14,000L and 20,000L. Good for farms, market gardens, and properties pushing well past single-household demand. Food-grade Aquaplate lining, AS/NZS 4020 compliant. Baked Colorbond shell in 22+ colours. At this height a matching colour is the difference between a farm tank that belongs on the property and a silo that shows up in every photo.

The Orion 27,500 Litres Colorbond Water Tank combines the strength of steel with the aesthetics of Colorbond colour. Constructed from genuine AQUAPLATE steel with a baked enamel interior for safe rainwater storage. Dimensions: 3400mm diameter x 3080mm height. Available in 9 Colorbond colours.
Farmstead scale, painted to fit the property
Three metres tall is the territory where a tank starts looking like a silo. The Colorbond finish is the handbrake on that. Paint it the colour of the shed roof and the tank pairs with the shed. Paint it in a muted heritage tone and it blends with bush. Picking the 3080mm tall tank in raw Zincalume versus colour-matched is the biggest visual delta in the range.
Drinking-water compliant
The potable polymer lining inside is AS/NZS 4020 certified. Same internal build as every Aquaplate and Colorbond tank. Colour is exterior only, and is baked on before the tank leaves the factory.
Where this shape fits
3400mm across, 3080mm tall. Suits farms, multi-dwelling builds, and properties with serious irrigation or stock watering demand on top of household supply. On the same 3400mm pad, the 20,000L steps down to 2310mm tall and the 30,000L steps up to 3400mm.

Strainer basket, overflow, and brass bibcock fitted. Custom outlet configurations available on request at order for a plumber’s run.

How long will it take to arrive?
Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
Do I need council approval to install a water tank?
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Can I pick the colour?
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
