Maximum capacity on the smallest footprint we build. The 2,850L runs 1240mm across but stands 2310mm tall, packing triple the 930L’s volume into the same concrete pad. The tall narrow shape suits block corners, side returns, and run-of-house positions where width is the constraint. Same potable-grade Aquaplate lining as the food-safe range, baked Colorbond finish outside in 22+ colours. Pick the colour of the fascia or roof it sits under and this tank climbs the wall instead of dominating the space.

The Orion 2,898 Litres Colorbond Water Tank combines the strength of steel with the aesthetics of Colorbond colour. Constructed from genuine AQUAPLATE steel with a baked enamel interior for safe rainwater storage. Dimensions: 1240mm diameter x 2310mm height. Available in 9 Colorbond colours.
Tall tank, matched to the wall behind it
A 2310mm tall cylinder is hard to hide. Colorbond is the workaround. Pick the colour of the building the tank stands against and the height stops reading as a vertical intrusion. Against a dark wall the tank sinks into the facade. Against weatherboard it picks up the trim. Colour is doing the heavy lifting on tanks this tall.
Food-grade inside, coloured outside
The polymer lining inside is the same one used across the Aquaplate range. Certified AS/NZS 4020 for potable water. The Colorbond outer coat is cosmetic only. No compromise on drinking water, no metallic taste, no rust pitting.
Where this shape fits
1240mm diameter, 2310mm tall. The tallest tank on the 1240mm footprint. Good for narrow side returns, between-house positions, and block corners where width is the problem. On the same 1240mm pad at lower heights, the 930L (770mm) and 1,850L (1550mm) give you shape-at-capacity choices.
Fit-up included
Strainer basket, overflow, and brass bibcock all fitted. Additional outlet configurations are available on request, specified with the plumber at order.

How long will it take to arrive?
Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
Do I need council approval to install a water tank?
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Can I pick the colour?
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
