30,000 litres is the biggest Aquaplate tank we stock. A 3,400mm x 3,400mm steel cube that stores enough water to run a fair-sized rural operation through the worst summer Tasmania has to offer. Beyond this, you’re looking at concrete tanks, multi-tank banks, or commercial-grade installations. For owners who want one tank doing maximum work with minimum complexity, this is where the range tops out.
Why Aquaplate at this size
At 30,000 litres, the construction decision has real implications. Plain galvanised at this scale develops visible pitting and taste issues within 10-15 years. Concrete tanks are expensive, site-specific, and struggle with rural plumbing integration. Poly tanks in this capacity start to look wrong on traditional rural properties. Aquaplate splits the difference: the Zincalume steel shell delivers the look, structural integrity, and standard rural-plumbing compatibility of steel. The bonded food-grade polymer liner delivers the AS/NZS 4020 drinking-water compliance of plastic. No compromise on either front.

How long will it take to arrive?
Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
Do I need council approval to install a water tank?
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Can I pick the colour?
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
