Tank material Aquaplate steel

Wide and low

2,600mm across, 770mm tall. At 4,000 litres, this tank gives you the capacity of a medium rural tank spread horizontally instead of vertically. Sits below the eave of most single-storey builds, doesn’t dominate the sightline from the house, and won’t need council approval for height on most residential blocks. When a buyer says “I want the tank, not the silo”, this is the shape.

Aquaplate: steel outside, drinking-water safe inside

Aquaplate bonds a food-grade polymer film to the inside of a Zincalume-coated steel shell. Outside you get the strength, UV resistance, and traditional corrugated steel look that lasts on Tasmanian blocks. Inside, your water never touches metal. AS/NZS 4020 certified for potable water contact. No rust pitting, no metallic taste, no concern about plain galv failure at the 10-15 year mark.

Where it works

Rural blocks where the tank sits in full view of the house and height matters. Heritage properties with fixed rooflines and fence regulations. Secondary tank beside an existing tall tank, providing buffer capacity without doubling the visual footprint. Farm sheds with wide low roofs where a wide tank matches the building’s proportions.

Fit-up included

400mm strainer basket inlet with stainless steel insect mesh, 90mm Rapid Seal overflow with removable screen, brass bibcock. Outlets placed on request.

Warranty Policy

Our warranty policy ensures peace of mind, covering defects and issues under standard terms.

Payment Information

We accept VISA, Mastercard, Google and Apple Pay.

How long will it take to arrive?

Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk

Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?

No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.

Do I need council approval to install a water tank?

For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.

Can I pick the colour?

Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.

What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?

Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
