Rural household capacity in classic galv. 2600mm across, 1550mm tall, 8,200 litres. Sits at chest-to-shoulder height, wide enough to catch a full roof off an average rural home. Hot-dip galvanised outer, food-grade liner inside, AS/NZS 4020 potable. A silver corrugated tank that reads as the expected rural supply, not a design statement. The silver tank at farm scale
At 8,200L this is the household-primary galv size. Visible from the driveway, visible from the house, visible from the yard. In colour it would need coordinating. In galv it just is. The silver corrugated profile against a weatherboard house, a tin shed, or a paddock backdrop is already the right visual, with no further decisions required.
A finish that ages well
Galv doesn’t get repainted. The zinc layer weathers to a soft grey patina over years, and the corrugated profile picks up subtle tonal shifts along the panels. A twenty-year-old galv tank looks like it belongs. A twenty-year-old Colorbond tank might look like it needs attention.
Food-grade lined for potable use
Internal polymer lining keeps the water off the zinc. Full AS/NZS 4020 certification. Tank is drinking-water compliant straight out of the factory, no treatment cycle needed at install.
Where this shape fits
2600mm across, 1550mm tall. Classic rural household size, works for most off-grid primary supply and farm first-tank installs. On the same 2600mm pad, the 10,000L (2020mm tall) and 12,500L (2310mm tall) step up capacity without changing the slab. The 4,000L shares the 2600mm diameter but drops to 770mm tall for low-profile positions.

How long will it take to arrive?
Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
Do I need council approval to install a water tank?
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Can I pick the colour?
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
