Orion Tanks Warranty — Summary
All Orion rainwater tanks we supply come with a manufacturer’s warranty from Orion Australia Pty Ltd, on top of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Your statutory rights: Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Warranty periods at a glance

| Aquaplate (steel) tanks | 10 years — only if installed more than 1,000m from the coastline |
| Galvanised steel tanks | 10 years against manufacturer’s defects (no cover for material defects) |
Tasmania note: Because most of Tasmania sits within 1,000m of the coast, Aquaplate tanks are generally not recommended for coastal properties. If you’re near the water, talk to us about poly options — we’ll help you pick a tank that’s actually covered where you live.
What the warranty covers
- Manufacturing defects in the tank as supplied
- Repair, replacement, or a pro-rata refund (Orion’s choice) if a covered defect is confirmed
What it does not cover
- Improper installation or a poor/failing base
- Using the tank for anything other than static potable water storage
- Damage from storm, flood, washaway, landslide, lightning, pests, or fire/ash
- Repositioning the tank after original install
- Staining from trees, ash, or bushfire fallout
- Weathering from extreme climate conditions
- Accidents, contamination, tampering, or misuse (including carting water)
- Installation, removal, plumbing, crane hire, or other labour costs associated with a replacement — these remain the customer’s responsibility

- Keep your original TBS invoice — it’s required for any claim
