1,000L is the default spec for commercial kitchens with regular daily service, pub food operations, restaurant menus with fryer and grill stations, and function venues running scheduled catering. The size matters less than the peak-service litres-per-hour, which is what the hydraulic designer or council should be basing the spec on.
Grease that makes it past the trap congeals in the pipework and chokes the septic disposal field or the council sewer connection. For on-site septic properties, that can end in a full disposal field replacement (commonly $20,000+ on rural commercial sites). A correctly sized trap at install is orders of magnitude cheaper than the downstream repair.
Greasy kitchen wastewater enters at 1180mm invert depth. Inside, flow slows enough for density separation. Fats and oils float to the top, solids settle, and the clean middle water exits at 1110mm invert depth to the disposal field or sewer. Scheduled pump-out removes the accumulated top and bottom layers.
Rotomoulded LLDPE construction. 1435 x 1435 x 1470mm. Suits TasWater, council, and EPA Tasmania trade-waste requirements for mid-volume commercial kitchens. 15-year prorated warranty.
Made in Tasmania, delivered direct. Size your trap by peak service output, not floor area — the 500L steps down for cafés and the 3,250L steps up for full commercial kitchens and function centres.
Our warranty policy ensures peace of mind, covering defects and issues under standard terms.

Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
