Function centres, large hotel kitchens, food production facilities, and commercial-scale catering operations usually land here. Sizing should come from a hydraulic designer or council trade-waste specification, not a rough guess.
Rectangular footprint for in-ground install
The 3,250L moves from a square footprint to a 2400 x 1800mm rectangular tank, which changes the excavation plan. Plan the in-ground install around the 2500 x 1900mm minimum base pad. Check invert depths against the existing kitchen drainage run before commissioning.
Why the biggest size matters most
At this scale, the commercial operation is producing enough kitchen wastewater daily that an undersized trap gets overloaded and grease escapes into the downstream system. That’s the scenario where a $20,000 septic field rebuild becomes a real possibility. The 3,250L is the trap that handles full commercial service without FOG breakthrough.

How long will it take to arrive?
Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
Do I need council approval to install a water tank?
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Can I pick the colour?
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
