The 2,000L Slimline + Rain/Mains Changeover Pump Kit is a dual-supply system out of the box. The tank runs first. When it’s empty, the pre-assembled changeover unit switches seamlessly to mains water. No manual valves, no running dry, no lawn turning brown because you forgot to swap over. Dual supply, automatic switch
Rain/Mains changeover pump kits are the smart-household solution to a common problem: rainwater runs out mid-summer, and mains water is still sitting there if you’d just plumbed it in. This pre-assembled unit watches the tank level and switches to mains supply automatically when the rainwater empties, then back to rainwater when the tank refills. No intervention. No dead gardens in February.
What’s included
The 2,000L corrugated slimline tank (2,400mm x 600mm x 2,020mm), the pre-assembled Rain/Mains changeover pump unit, and the standard tank fit-out: four 25mm BSP outlets plus one 40mm outlet, a 300mm strainer basket with stainless steel insect mesh, a 90mm overflow with Rapid Seal grommet, and a brass ball valve. The pump arrives wired to the tank, not as a separate install.

How long will it take to arrive?
Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
Do I need council approval to install a water tank?
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Can I pick the colour?
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
