The 1,850L Aquaplate Water Tank takes the 930L’s 1,240mm footprint and goes tall, to 1,550mm high, for roughly double the capacity on the same pad. Same steel-outside, food-grade-inside Aquaplate construction. AS/NZS 4020 potable water compliant. Tasmanian-made with a 15-year prorated warranty and free delivery to 90% of the state. Same footprint as the 930L, double the water
If you like the 930L’s 1,240mm diameter (fits a tight corner, doesn’t dominate) but need more storage, the 1,850L solves it by going vertical. 1,550mm tall, same base size. Almost twice the capacity without taking any more ground. Good for side-of-house runs where depth is tight but head height is available.
Why Aquaplate
Zincalume steel shell bonded to a food-grade polymer liner inside. The structural advantages of steel (long UV life, classic corrugated look, resistant to impact and coastal weather) with the drinking-water compliance of a plastic tank. AS/NZS 4020 certified. No internal rust, no metallic taste, no liner breakdown over time.
1,700L vs 1,850L: pick your geometry
Both tanks hit the $3,000 mid-small price point. The 1,700L is wide and low (1,680mm diameter, 770mm tall). The 1,850L is narrow and tall (1,240mm diameter, 1,550mm tall). Same money, same Aquaplate construction, totally different shapes. The right one depends on your site, not the capacity difference.

How long will it take to arrive?
Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
Do I need council approval to install a water tank?
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Can I pick the colour?
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
