The 5,300L Aquaplate Water Tank is a tall steel tank on a reasonable footprint. 1,680mm diameter, 2,400mm high, with capacity for a small rural household primary or a solid secondary on a bigger block. Zincalume steel shell outside, food-grade polymer lining inside, AS/NZS 4020 potable-water compliant. Tasmanian-made with a 15-year prorated warranty and free delivery to 90% of the state.

Height makes the capacity
Same 1,680mm diameter as the 3,400L, but stretched to 2,400mm tall. That extra 850mm of height gives you almost 2,000 more litres on the exact same ground footprint. Good when the site suits a taller tank but you don’t want to expand the pad.
Why Aquaplate, not plain galvanised
The argument for Aquaplate over plain galvanised steel is simple: water and metal don’t belong together. Plain galv tanks pit and rust over 10-20 years, and can leave a metallic edge on the water. Aquaplate bonds a food-grade polymer film to the inside of the Zincalume steel shell. You get steel strength and longevity outside, potable-water compliance and a neutral taste inside. AS/NZS 4020 certified.
Rural primary or serious secondary
At 5,300 litres you’re into small-household primary territory. Enough to carry a one-or-two-person cabin through a dry summer, or serve as the main tank on a hobby-farm block where stock and garden supply come from elsewhere. On larger rural properties, a solid secondary tank adding fire reserve or buffer capacity.

How long will it take to arrive?
Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
Do I need council approval to install a water tank?
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Can I pick the colour?
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
