The 8,200L Aquaplate Water Tank is a substantial rural tank with conventional proportions. 2,600mm diameter, 1,550mm high, 8,200 litres of potable-water-safe storage. A good size for a rural household wanting steel construction without committing to the visual scale of a 10,000L+ tank. Zincalume shell, food-grade lining, AS/NZS 4020 compliant. Tasmanian-made.

Sensibly proportioned
2,600mm wide, 1,550mm tall. Not as low as the wide-squat 4,000L or 6,950L, not as imposing as a 10,000L+. Sits comfortably in the visual proportions of most rural homes without dominating the site. A sensible size for blocks that want real storage capacity but don’t want to draw the eye to the tank first.
The Aquaplate case, tested at rural scale
At 8,200 litres, the water in the tank sits for longer between full cycles than in smaller tanks. That makes the food-grade liner matter more, not less. Water sitting in a plain galvanised tank for weeks picks up metallic taste as the zinc interface interacts with the water’s chemistry. Aquaplate’s bonded polymer liner prevents that. AS/NZS 4020 certified. The water that comes off the roof is the water that comes out the tap.

How long will it take to arrive?
Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
Do I need council approval to install a water tank?
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Can I pick the colour?
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
