Tank material Aquaplate steel

One tank, two compliance frameworks

Rural fire planning and rural water supply usually get specified separately. An Aquaplate fire tank lets you handle both in one installation. The exterior and fittings meet TFS spec for a dedicated fire tank. The internal polymer lining is AS/NZS 4020 certified for potable water. Same slab, same plumber, both compliance boxes ticked.

Aquaplate lining inside the fire shell

Aquaplate bonds a food-grade polymer film to the inside of a Zincalume steel shell. The water never contacts metal, there’s no rust pitting, and the lining is certified for drinking-water use. The fire tank variant carries the same lining system as the regular Aquaplate range, so the water in your reserve is also the water at your kitchen tap.

Where this shape fits

2600mm across, 2020mm tall. Sized to the TFS 10,000L minimum, positioned within 90m hose-lay of the building and 3m of a hardstand. For fire + potable at double the capacity, the 20,000L Aquaplate Fire Tank steps up on a 3400mm footprint. For a colour-matched variant at the same spec, the 10,000L Colorbond Fire Tank runs the same lining and fittings.

Standard TFS fit-up

50mm outlet, 65mm Storz coupling, 90mm overflow with Rapid Seal grommet and insect screen, 400mm strainer basket with stainless mesh. W signage at install per TFS.

Payment Information

We accept VISA, Mastercard, Google and Apple Pay.

How long will it take to arrive?

Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk

Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?

No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.

Do I need council approval to install a water tank?

For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.

Can I pick the colour?

Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.

What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?

Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
