Fire compliance, potable water, and colour-matched to the property. Fire tanks usually default to galvanised or plain steel because the compliance is the point. When the build has already picked a Colorbond palette for the house, shed, and fencing, a raw steel fire tank reads as an exception. The Colorbond fire tank carries full Tas Approved fire fittings and lets the exterior match the rest of the property, so the tank is there without being the loudest thing in the yard.
Inside the Colorbond shell, the same food-grade Aquaplate polymer lining as the potable range. AS/NZS 4020 certified for drinking water. One tank can serve fire compliance and household supply, in a colour that matches the property.
2600mm across, 2020mm tall. TFS 10k minimum sized for single-dwelling compliance. The 20,000L Colorbond Fire Tank doubles the capacity for combined fire + household or multi-dwelling sites. If colour-matching isn’t a priority, the 10,000L Galvanised Fire Tank is the lower-cost same-spec alternative.
50mm outlet, 65mm Storz coupling, 90mm overflow with Rapid Seal grommet and insect screen, 400mm strainer basket with stainless mesh. W signage at install per TFS.

Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
