Tas Approved, no back-fitting

The Tasmania Fire Service sets a 10,000L minimum for dedicated firefighting supply in bushfire-prone areas, and this tank arrives at that spec with the fittings already in place: 50mm valve, 65mm Storz coupling, and a draw point at the correct height for truck access. The certifier ticks it, the plumber connects it, the builder moves on.

Galvanised meets the metal-construction requirement

Above-ground fire tanks must be metal or non-combustible. Hot-dip galvanised steel is the traditional compliant choice. No paint to ignite, no polymer shell, just zinc-bonded steel that weathers in rather than degrading. The finish also takes truck-side knocks better than a painted exterior.

Where this shape fits

2600mm diameter, 2020mm tall. Sized to sit within 90m hose-lay of the building and 3m of a hardstand, which puts it close to the driveway on most rural blocks. If you want a combined fire plus potable supply in one tank, the Aquaplate and Colorbond versions of the 10,000L fire tank carry the same fire spec with food-grade lining inside.

Standard TFS fit-up

50mm outlet, 65mm Storz coupling, 90mm overflow with Rapid Seal grommet and insect screen, 400mm strainer basket with stainless steel insect mesh. Red-and-white W sign goes on the tank at install per TFS signage requirements.

Payment Information

We accept VISA, Mastercard, Google and Apple Pay.

How long will it take to arrive?

Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk

Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?

No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.

Do I need council approval to install a water tank?

For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.

Can I pick the colour?

Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.

What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?

Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
