The 10,000L galv is the certifier default. 2600mm across, 2020mm tall. Round number rural plumbers quote off, standard first-tank size for off-grid builds and farm household supply. Hot-dip galvanised steel outside, food-grade liner inside, AS/NZS 4020 potable compliant. This is the tank that shows up on rural builds when the brief is “we want the proper traditional shape” and no further spec is given. Silver finish, no paint to fail, no colour choice to make.

10,000L is the round number on most rural builds. In galv it’s also the default look. This is the tank rural plumbers, certifiers, and off-grid builders quote from when no one’s specified otherwise. Silver corrugated steel on a concrete pad. Everything about it reads as standard-issue rural, which is exactly what most buyers at this size are after.
A 10,000L tank is a substantial object. In Colorbond the colour choice becomes a decision point. In galv there’s no decision. Silver is silver, the patina deepens over the years, and the tank stops being a visual component to think about. It just stores water.
The outside is the traditional galv farm tank. The inside is a modern polymer liner isolating the water from the metal. AS/NZS 4020 certified for drinking water. Primary household supply, hot water feed, kitchen tap, all fine.
2600mm across, 2020mm tall. Classic rural primary supply. On the same 2600mm pad, the 8,200L drops to 1550mm and the 12,500L climbs to 2310mm. Same concrete, three capacity options depending on the height available on site.

Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
