The Orion 10,000 Litres Colorbond Water Tank combines the strength of steel with the aesthetics of Colorbond colour. Constructed from genuine AQUAPLATE steel with a baked enamel interior for safe rainwater storage. Dimensions: 2600mm diameter x 2020mm height. Available in 9 Colorbond colours.
The default tank, with a choice
10,000L is the default spec on most rural certificates. That means the round tank shape is everywhere. Colorbond is the finish that makes yours not look like everyone else’s. Roof-matched, fence-matched, or picked from a fresh build palette, it stops reading as generic rural plant.
Food-grade lining, AS/NZS 4020 certified
The Aquaplate polymer lining inside is potable-water certified. Same as the base Aquaplate range. The Colorbond baked colour coat is external only. Water quality is not affected by the finish choice.
Where this shape fits
2600mm diameter, 2020mm tall. The classic rural primary. On the same 2600mm pad, the 8,200L (1550mm tall) steps down for smaller catchments, and the 12,500L (2310mm tall) steps up for households with higher demand or drier rainfall.
Fit-up included
Strainer basket, overflow, and brass bibcock fitted at the factory. Custom outlet plans and extra fittings specified at point of order.

How long will it take to arrive?
Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
Do I need council approval to install a water tank?
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Can I pick the colour?
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
