Double the 930L capacity on the same 1240mm footprint. The 1,850L runs to 1550mm tall, so it fits the same concrete pad but holds twice the water. Good where floor space is tight and vertical height isn’t. Baked Colorbond finish outside in your choice of 22+ colours, food-grade Aquaplate lining inside, AS/NZS 4020 potable-water compliant. The Orion 1,850 Litres Colorbond Water Tank combines the strength of steel with the aesthetics of Colorbond colour. Constructed from genuine AQUAPLATE steel with a baked enamel interior for safe rainwater storage. Dimensions: 1240mm diameter x 1550mm height. Available in 9 Colorbond colours.
Colour-matched to a taller backdrop
At 1550mm the 1,850L sits around chest height. Taller than a fence, shorter than a garage roof. That puts the tank into the visible zone on most blocks, which is where the Colorbond colour earns its keep. Paint it to match the wall it stands against or the roof above it, and it reads as part of the structure rather than a parked cylinder.
Same food-grade lining as Aquaplate
A baked colour finish on the outside, a food-grade polymer lining on the inside. AS/NZS 4020 certified for potable water. Same internal build as the Aquaplate range, so the Colorbond choice is cosmetic, not a trade-off on drinking water.
Where this shape fits
1240mm diameter, 1550mm tall. Shares the 930L footprint but holds roughly double the water by going up instead of out. For the same 1240mm footprint pushed to maximum capacity, the 2,850L runs to 2310mm tall. Same pad, more height, more water.
Fit-up included
Strainer basket, overflow, and brass bibcock fitted. Outlet positions and additional fittings are specified at the point of order.

How long will it take to arrive?
Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
Do I need council approval to install a water tank?
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Can I pick the colour?
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
