Fire and potable in one larger tank
At 20,000L the Aquaplate fire tank covers double the TFS minimum while still serving as a drinking-water supply. On multi-dwelling rural sites or properties with larger building areas requiring more than 10,000L of fire reserve, one Aquaplate tank does both jobs rather than needing a separate fire tank plus household tank.
Food-grade lining at fire-tank scale
The polymer lining inside is the same AS/NZS 4020 certified Aquaplate system used on the regular potable range. Water sits off the steel, no metallic taste, no rust pitting. The internal spec is independent of whether the tank is being pulled on by a fire pump or plumbed into a household pressure system.
Where this shape fits
3400mm across, 2310mm tall. Sized for combined fire + household on rural builds needing fire reserves above the 10k minimum. For the same spec at 10,000L, the 10,000L Aquaplate Fire Tank suits smaller single-dwelling builds. For colour-matching to a property, the 20,000L Colorbond Fire Tank carries the same internal lining with a baked colour exterior.

How long will it take to arrive?
Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
Do I need council approval to install a water tank?
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Can I pick the colour?
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
