The Orion 3,400 Litres Colorbond Water Tank combines the strength of steel with the aesthetics of Colorbond colour. Constructed from genuine AQUAPLATE steel with a baked enamel interior for safe rainwater storage. Dimensions: 1680mm diameter x 1550mm height. Available in 9 Colorbond colours.
Proportioned to disappear into the property
The 1680 x 1550 shape sits in the sweet spot where a raw tank is unmissable but a colour-matched tank reads as part of the building. Pick the roof colour or the fascia colour and it stops looking like storage equipment. On suburban and semi-rural blocks this is the size where the aesthetic argument for Colorbond lands hardest.
Drinking-water compliant
Inside the coloured shell is the same Aquaplate polymer lining used on the potable range. No metallic contact with the water. AS/NZS 4020 certified. The Colorbond outer coat is paint, not a compromise.
Where this shape fits
1680mm across, 1550mm tall. Balanced proportions that suit most yards and property lines. If you need the same capacity spread wider and lower, the 4,000L is 2600mm across at just 770mm tall. If you need taller on the same 1680mm footprint, the 5,300L steps up to 2310mm.
Fit-up included
Strainer basket, overflow, and brass bibcock fitted at the factory. Non-standard fit-up and additional outlets are available on request at order.

How long will it take to arrive?
Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
Do you install the tank or sort the plumbing?
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
Do I need council approval to install a water tank?
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Can I pick the colour?
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
What if I order the wrong size or change my mind?
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
