The 1680mm footprint pushed to full height. At 2310mm tall the 5,300L packs over 50% more water than the 3,400L on the same pad, so if you’ve got the vertical clearance the capacity gain is efficient. Baked Colorbond finish in 22+ colours, food-grade Aquaplate lining inside, AS/NZS 4020 potable. Tall tanks benefit most from Colorbond because there’s more surface to notice. A colour matched to the building cuts the visual height and stops the tank dominating the yard.
The Orion 5,300 Litres Colorbond Water Tank combines the strength of steel with the aesthetics of Colorbond colour. Constructed from genuine AQUAPLATE steel with a baked enamel interior for safe rainwater storage. Dimensions: 1680mm diameter x 2310mm height. Available in 9 Colorbond colours.
A 2310mm tall tank is a vertical object. At Zincalume-raw that’s a grey column in the yard. In Colorbond, matched to the house or shed, that same height reads as an extension of the building. More surface area means more impact from the colour choice. This is where Colorbond earns its price premium over plain Aquaplate.
The colour is on the outside. The inside is the Aquaplate food-grade polymer lining, same as the potable range. AS/NZS 4020 certified. You’re buying a painted tank, not a different tank.
1680mm across, 2310mm tall. Keeps the compact 1680mm footprint of the 3,400L but goes up instead of out. Good for side-of-house positions where you can’t add width but can use vertical space. At the same height in a wider footprint, the 12,500L runs 2600 x 2310.
Strainer basket, overflow, and brass bibcock fitted. Additional outlet options are available on request and specified at order.

Most tanks reach your block within two weeks of order. Every tank is made in Tasmania and delivered direct, so there’s no mainland freight wait. If you’ve got a critical date (plumber booked, build sign-off, certifier inspection), let us know at order time and we’ll flag any timing risk
No. We deliver to your block and unload. Connecting it to your downpipe, pump, and house plumbing is a job for your plumber. On a new build the plumber usually has the inlet, outlet, and overflow rough-in ready before the tank arrives.
For most rural and residential properties in Tasmania, a standalone rainwater tank doesn’t need council approval. Larger tanks, elevated tanks on stands, and tanks in heritage zones can have local rules, so a quick check with your council before you order is worth the five minutes. Fire fighting tanks tied to a building permit are usually approved as part of the build itself.
Yes. Most ranges come in 22+ Colorbond colours so you can match a roof, fascia, fence, or pick something that disappears into the bush. Use the colour picker on the product page. The live colour shows on the 3D tank view so you can see exactly how it’ll look before you check out.
Get in touch as soon as you can. If the tank hasn’t begun manufacturing, we may be able to change the tank colour or size. Unfortunately, once manufacturing starts (as all tanks are custom-made), we can’t accept returns.
